A maintenance friendly urn cemetery has been delivered in Döbeln, Germany. Crematorium Döbeln GmbH invests in a new urn cemetery on the Geyersberg. The first construction phase, with 310 niches and urn cellars, was completed on October 18th, 2017. When all phases are completed, the cemetery will contain 816 cemetery niches and urns cellars, with place for about 2.000 urns. Memodes provided the design, in collaboration with Architectural Office Zache and Consultancy Firm Limes from Woerden, The Netherlands.
This project was designed by Hans van Doorn, owner of Memodes, who specializes in designing and constructing cemeteries. Memodes‘ main focus is accomplishing designs for placing urns. Memodes also offers an assortment of cemetery necessaries and cemetery technology with a number of innovative products.
The project is finally implemented by LFT Tiefbau GmbH in cooperation with Hofmann Landschafts- und Freiflächengestaltung from Zshaitz-Ottewig, Germany.
This whole project should be durable and maintenance friendly. Therefor they choose the Covergreen® ready-to-use plant mats. Covergreen® Waldsteinia en Covergreen® Vinca minor plant mats are used as a ground cover on the urn cemetery. You can see pictures of the result here.
